What do you think? The last one of the year.

Since this is the last 'What do you think?' of the year, I decided to ask Dr.Richmond Stroupe, the Deputy Director of the World Language Center, if he would choose one for us. He kindly did so. His quote is from the famous American writer Mark Twain. The quote is -

"Always do right. That will gratify some of the people, and astonish the rest."

Richmond made this comment about the quote -
I've always thought this was good advice. No matter what the situation, how difficult the choice may be, it really comes down to doing the right thing, doing what is right, whether or not that is the easiest choice. In a world like ours today, if people did simply do the right thing, it certainly would gratify some people and astonish others, and make the world a better place. And I can think of no better way to be remembered than as a person who always tried to do the right thing.

Well, people, what do you think?

It seems Kanae has had some trouble logging in, so she emailed me her comment and I've posted it for her.

Hi, Dr. Richmond. My name is Kanae. Thank you for your quote. I strongly agree with your quotes. We sometimes need courage to do right thing. I respect for person always to do right things. Nevertheless, someone hate person to do right things. Some people think that person to do right things is dissembler. So, some case is very hard to do right things, but, if we keep doing right thing, people will gratify and astonishing.
