Alex's introduction

Here is my introduction.

Hi, everybody. My name is Alex Chirnside and I’m the teacher who’s going to be tormenting you for the next few months. I’m 50 years old and was born in the city of Edinburgh, which is in Scotland. I’ve always felt lucky that I grew up there because it’s a really beautiful place. Now, I live in Suginami Ward with my wife and two daughters. My elder daughter is 9 and she speaks English and Japanese (but her Japanese is much better). My younger daughter is 3, very cute, and speaks only Japanese. She seems to understand what I say to her in English, though.

I’ve been a teacher at Soka University for four years and I really like it here, mainly because the students are very good and work very hard. I’ll say that again; the students work very hard. I teach TOEFL classes, TOEIC classes and a reading class for science majors.My hobbies are watching movies, reading history and making Internet websites. My favorite movie is Casablanca, a wonderful, old, black and white movie starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, that has probably some of the most famous lines in cinema history. If you haven’t seen it already, try to watch it sometime. And make sure you watch it in English.See you in class next week.
